Inbox Layout

Google allows you to customize your inbox with a simple click of a button. To personalize your inbox, go to Gmail and then move your cursor over “Inbox” and click on the appeared downwards arrow. Once you click on the arrow, you can access the menu of different types of Inbox Configuration that Google offers. You can set the configuration that suits you the best from different options like Default, Important emails first, Unread first, Priority Inbox and Starred first. Change the Size of Your Inbox

The default setting of your Gmail Inbox is to show 50 email conversations at a time. You can alter the number of emails you want to see by going into Gmail’s settings and then click on the “General” tab and then tap on the “Maximum Page Show” option. Gmail enables you to set 10, 15,20,25,50, or 100 emails at any one time.

Different Gmail Themes

Gmail also allows you to set a theme for your inbox. Go to the “Settings” gear icon and click on the “Theme” icon. Here, you will find different kinds of themes that you can choose for your inbox. Apart from themes offered by Google, you can also add your photos by clicking on the bottom-right corner.



Hide the Sidebar

You can hide the Sidebar by clicking on the top-right corner of your Gmail inbox. Once you click on the icon, the sidebar goes back to the side of the page and only shows you the Inbox, Sent, and Draft icons.

Customize your Sidebar

If you don’t want to hide the sidebar, you can customize it by holding down the mouse cursor on the selected items and drag it to the position you want.

Customize the Google Hangouts Chat

You can also customize the Google Hangout Chat which generally sits below the sidebar. You can change the place of the Chat window by going into the “Gmail Settings” and then hit the “Advanced” option and then enable the “Right-side chat” option and save the changes. You can altogether remove the Hangout Chat Window as well by going into the “Settings” menu and then click on the “Chat” option and select the “Chat off” and save the changes. You can see all the changes you have made by reloading the page.

Customize your Inbox Tabs

Gmail’s Inbox Tabs automatically segments your email and helps you in dealing with the important emails first. You can customize your Inbox Tab even further by choosing which one you want to see in your inbox. You can choose from a variety of Tabs like Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates, and Forums.
